About This Ranking
How we measure growth
For every active server we track, we record the total member count at regular intervals. Weekly growth is simply this week’s member count minus the count from 7 days ago. We display the result two ways: absolute growth (net new members, e.g. "+12,450 members") and percent growth(the same number as a percentage of the prior week’s size). To keep tiny servers from gaming the percent leaderboard by going from 100 → 500 members, we require a minimum of 2,000 members a week ago for the percent ranking.
Why weekly matters
Discord’s own discovery is biased toward big, established servers. Weekly growth surfaces the opposite: new communities that are earning members through word of mouth, a viral moment, a hot release, or just genuinely good vibes. A server adding 50,000 members in a week is telling you something about what people care about right now — something the all-time leaderboard can’t show you. For creators and community owners, weekly growth is also the single clearest signal that what you’re building is working.
