The Overgrowth runs modded instances of A Township Tale, a VR RPG designed for immersive roleplay. Three separate servers—The Overgrowth, The Overgrowth 2, and The Undergrowth—each offer distinct lore and themed environments. Members develop characters within these worlds, with environmental storytelling and collaborative interactions as the core of play.

The Discord coordinates activity across all instances, serves as a hub for sharing character stories, and hosts discussion around server lore. The community skews toward players who engage with character depth and narrative over grinding or competitive mechanics. New players are welcome, though the server's immersive roleplay focus means it's built for people comfortable with that style of engagement.
