The Bioactive Enclosure is a community built around designing and maintaining planted tanks and vivariums — from fully aquatic setups to desert terrariums and everything in between. The focus is plant-first: creating living substrates and ecosystems that work whether or not animals live in them.

The server is for anyone interested in bioactive enclosure design, whether you keep reptiles, invertebrates, aquatic animals, or simply want to build a planted vivarium for its own sake. You'll find dedicated channels for terrariums, paludariums, desertariums, and kinocoriums, plus channels for different animal groups if you're using your enclosure as habitat. Members share setups, ask care questions, troubleshoot plant and substrate issues, and discuss the theory behind bioactive ecosystems.
