About Programmer

Programmer is a hangout for people learning and working in code. It's a space where beginners asking basic questions and experienced developers tackling harder problems can coexist without hierarchy or gatekeeping.

Members use the server to ask for help with code, get feedback on projects, discuss programming concepts, and find collaborators for builds. The community is structured around the idea that learning happens faster when you're around other people doing the same thing—whether that's picking up your first language or debugging a gnarly system design problem.

There's no pretence here. Questions are treated as genuine, and the atmosphere is low on gatekeeping. If you want a place to ask "why does this not work" or "what's the best way to approach this" without worrying you'll sound dumb, this is that place. It's also useful if you're looking for project partners or just want to talk shop with other people who code.
