Old Rust hosts a custom 2019 version of Rust that runs through a standalone client you can download and play for free—no Steam purchase required. The older build strips away some of the complexity that newer Rust versions added while keeping the core survival and PvP loop intact. You're building bases, raiding, and competing against other players on the same simplified ruleset. The 2019 client also loads faster than current versions and runs lighter on your hardware.
