Nightshade SMP is a pure vanilla Minecraft server built around collaborative, long-form building projects. The server runs Minecraft without plugins or mods that alter core gameplay, which means you're playing the game as Mojang designed it. The one exception is an optional proximity chat mod that lets you voice chat with nearby players for more immersive interactions.

The server is structured around seasonal worlds. Each season runs as long as the community wants, then resets when players collectively decide to move on. At the end of each season, the full world is available for download—a way to preserve your builds and keep the memories. To prevent griefing, the server uses a ledger system that tracks block changes; anyone can check who did what, and staff can quickly roll back any damage.

This works best for players who want to build without worrying about theft or destruction, who enjoy Minecraft's slower pace, and who value a mature, drama-free community over constant updates or events.
